IFA implore Persons With Disabilities for more participation as INEC Extends Anambra State election till Sunday.

Following the extension of the State election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) till Sunday, We wish to seize this opportunity to implore and encourage Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Anambra State, who are yet to cast their votes at polling units where elections could not hold, due to the experienced failure of Biomodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), to avail for the exercise tomorrow Sunday 7th November 2021.

Due to the failure of the Biomodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS, in many polling units across Anambra State in the ongoing governorship election, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has extended voting till Sunday.

The exercise was also extended beyond the closing time of 2.30 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday.
INEC resident electoral commissioner, Dr. Nkwachukwu Orji said BVAS failed in many areas because of a software breach.

According to him, the extension was therefore to enable those who could cast their votes to do so.
Many polling units experienced the breach, thereby delaying the voting process and frustrating eligible voters.
