The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) today 27 August 2021 announced the devolution of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise to level wards in Anambra State.
The devolution will commence on Monday, August 30, 2021, and end Sunday, September 5, 2021. Ahead of the November 6, 2021, gubernatorial election, the commission plans to suspend the CVR exercise on Monday, September 6, 2021, to clean up the data, compile the register, make copies available to political parties, print the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) for collections by registered voters and prepare two copies of the register for each of the 5,720 polling units of the election in Anambra State.
The Inclusive Friends Association is calling on all Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) who are yet to register or have damaged/defaced or lost their PVCs or wish to change their voting locations to take hold of the opportunity to register before September 6, 2021. Also, the organization admonishes PWDs to ensure they capture their disability status as INEC commits to make the electoral process inclusive and accessible.
