Role description
IFA seeks to hire a Senior Finance Officer. The most successful candidate would be starting immediately. The ideal candidate should have experience in NGO finance management and disability-related projects. The candidate will oversee various donor funds and report accordingly, s/he will oversee advances and retirement in-line with the organizational finance and procurement policies. This position is available immediately.
Main Functions

Preparation of monthly financial reports

Preparation of monthly bank reconciliation.

Uploading reports on donor agencies’ platform

Post, maintain, and reconcile financials in QuickBooks Accounting software.

Prepare other periodic financial reports as may be requested

Prepare cash advance liquidations for review and submission to the donor.

Support successful external audit of IFA corporate finances yearly.

Facilitate effective, efficient, and timely financial transaction recordings.

Support proper budget monitoring/management in a manner that will aid good management decisions on project expenditures.

Ensure compliance with statutory deductions and remittances

Perform all other duties as assigned.
Require skills and Experience

Graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting or finance with at least 5 years of experience

Must possess a Second Class Upper / Upper Credit

Candidates with ICAN or ACCA qualification or its equivalent is preferred
-
Additional professional certifications or postgraduate qualification is an added advantage
-
Experience in program design, strategic planning, and monitoring and evaluation will be an added advantage
-
Experience in working with Persons with Disabilities is an asset.

Excellent oral and written communications skills to effectively and persuasively present information, respond to questions, negotiate, and share information with partners and donors.

Working knowledge of computer-based word processing and spreadsheet applications, PowerPoint, QuickBooks, and Google Apps suite (Gmail, Calendar, Google Drive, G+, etc.) strongly desired

Excellent organizational skills

Excellent people skills, ability to work independently, and the ability to work in multi-cultural teams and environments.

Experience in grant/proposal writing and grant reporting

Good teamwork and personal communication skills;
