On July 19, 2023, The Inclusive Friends Association (IFA), delivered 29 wheelchairs to selected beneficiaries of the IFA-ACE Wheelchair Drive in Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau and the FCT. The project aimed to empower Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) through the provision of essential mobility devices (Wheelchairs) to foster better community engagement and improve their life. With support from the Action for Change and Empowerment (ACE), 100 wheelchairs will be delivered to deserving beneficiaries nationwide.
At the distribution ceremony for the FCT beneficiaries, IFA’s Executive Director, Grace Jerry, in her opening remark appreciate the Action for Change and Empowerment (ACE) for the support and oblige beneficiaries to make good use of the mobility device.
Grace said, “With profound gratitude, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our partner, the Action for Change and Empowerment (ACE) who contributed to this noble cause, ensuring that mobility becomes a reality for those in need. Each wheelchair bestowed today embodies the power of compassion and empathy, bridging the gap between limitations and possibilities….”
The wheelchair distribution continues simultaneously in Benue and Plateau State where IFA’s states focal persons distributed the wheelchair to deserving beneficiaries and their aides/caregivers.
The successful distribution of the wheelchairs brought joy and hope to the beneficiaries, as they now had the means to move around independently and actively participate in society.
