As part of its ongoing efforts to promote disability inclusion, the Inclusive Friends Association (IFA) conducted a pre-implementation advocacy visit to the Nasarawa State Commission for Persons with Disabilities on January 31, 2025. The visit, held at the Commission’s office in Lafia, aimed to strengthen collaboration on key initiatives supporting digital literacy, empowerment, and accessibility for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

The IFA delegation, led by Director of Programs, Molly Joshua, alongside Program Manager Tracy Onabis, Moses Oluwaseyi, and Kadija Adekoya, was warmly received by Executive Chairman Saleh Barde Ken and his team. Discussions centered on joint strategies to ensure sustainable inclusion of PWDs in governance, economic empowerment, and technology-driven opportunities.

During the meeting, the Nasarawa State Commission for Persons with Disabilities reaffirmed its commitment to supporting IFA’s upcoming digital literacy training by mobilizing 100 PWDs through community networks, social media, and disability organizations. This initiative will equip participants with essential tech skills, enhancing their employability and independence.

IFA remains dedicated to ensuring that disability inclusion moves from policy to practice. The partnership with the Nasarawa State Commission for Persons with Disabilities marks a critical step towards sustainable change, reinforcing the collective responsibility of government agencies, civil society, and private sector actors.
